About the role
- Reinsurance Officer coordinating reinsurance processes among departments like Finance, Actuarial, and Underwriting at AIG. Overseeing contract compliance and maintaining broker relationships.
Responsibilities
- The Reinsurance Officer coordinates with the various departments involved in the reinsurance process
- Collate the data required to prepare the submission package
- Work with the Legal Department to draft and review the reinsurance contract wording
- Coordinate the availability of documents and reports for claims, underwriting and transactional audits
- Evaluate and consider treaty reinsurance quotes and indications
- Negotiate the transaction to support AIG’s business requirements
- Coordinate and track execution of contract wordings
- Summarize Treaty Terms and Schematics and distribute internally as needed
- Develop, manage and maintain relationships with reinsurance brokers and reinsurance markets
- Support compliance by maintaining appropriate documentation
- Understanding Profit Centre business strategy and reinsurance objectives
- Ensure compliance with corporate and regional security policy
- Manage the special exception process when appropriate
- Coordinate and manage all external reinsurance underwriting audits
Requirements
- At least 5 years of Reinsurance related experience
- ARe and/or CPCU preferred
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience
- Excellent communication skills (both written and verbal)
- Strong presentation development and executive communication skills
- Advanced PowerPoint capabilities with a strong ability to synthesize complex data into concise, impactful presentations
- Proven ability to create and deliver high-quality presentations for senior leadership and C-suite audiences
- Strong negotiation skills
- Strong attention to detail and quantitative skills
- Ability to meet deadlines and prioritize tasks
- Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work with various internal stakeholders, including underwriting, claims, actuarial, finance and IT departments
- Ability to travel as required (10%)
- Strong Microsoft Office skills, including Word and Excel
