About the role
- Investment Accounting Assistant Director overseeing accounting for AIG’s investment products. Leading process improvements and ensuring regulatory compliance within financial reporting standards.
Responsibilities
- Execute and manage accounting processes related to the monthly and quarterly accounting close
- Support the review and preparation of Investment disclosures for AIG 10Q/K and Financial Supplement
- Lead the implementation of process improvements
- Coordinate with various areas in the organization to develop an understanding of new investment transactions
- Perform ad-hoc analytical requests
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance
- 10+ years’ experience in accounting and reporting for investment products
- Deep understanding of investment products and accounting treatment for fixed maturity, equity, and other investment products
- Strong knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP)
- Strong knowledge of statutory reporting
- Experience with foreign currency remeasurement and translation
- Excellent analytical skills
- High level of competency using Microsoft Excel
- Ability to work collaboratively with teams in multiple locations
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
