About the role
- Underwriter responsible for managing E&S Casualty in Western Region for Arch. Involves underwriting compliance, business development, and mentoring junior members.
Responsibilities
- Responsible for underwriting, business development, producer management and underwriting compliance of E&S Casualty in the Western Region.
- Underwrite both primary and excess layers.
- Develop strong relationships with Wholesale producers to successfully manage regional business.
- Monitor/influence and consistently execute departmental underwriting strategies to develop and maintain a profitable book.
- Provide training and/or mentorship for junior members of the team
Requirements
- A minimum of 8-10 years of Casualty experience, preferably within the wholesale marketplace and with both primary and excess layers
- Bachelor's Degree preferably in Economics, Finance, Accounting or Risk Management
- Strong technical underwriting skills
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Effectively prioritize work with ability to meet deadlines in fast-paced environment
- Ability to work independently and as a member of a team
