About the role
- Data Developer at AIMCo, enhancing data pipelines and architectures for efficient data utilization. Collaborating with senior developers to support data-driven decision-making across the organization.
Responsibilities
- Support team in developing data pipelines to extract, load, and transform data from various sources into cloud-based data warehouses and data lakes
- Learn how to implement data processing workflows that are highly optimized for their cloud-native environment
- Collaborate with senior developers and data architects to design and implement scalable and reliable data architectures on cloud platforms
- Assist with monitoring and maintaining the performance of cloud-based data warehouses and data pipelines, troubleshoot issues, and optimize query performance
- Work with data analysts to understand data requirements and design data models that enable effective reporting and analysis
- Provide support services to internal clients including root-cause analysis, debugging, training, and consultation services
- Increase data awareness and quality by providing internal training
Requirements
- Pursuing a bachelor’s degree in computer science, Software Engineering, or related field
- Experience designing, developing, and maintaining data pipelines
- Experience with Cloud Platform services such as Azure and Azure Data Factory
- Demonstrated coding skills in Python, SQL and knowledge of software engineering principles around testing, code reviews, and deployment
- Experience in data modeling and Data transformation technologies such as dbt will be an asset
- Exposure to Business Intelligence visualization software like Microsoft Power BI, TIBCO Spotfire, Tableau, etc. is a desirable asset
- Experience working with DevOps pipelines continuous integration/delivery, and automated testing (unit, functional, performance)
- Database architecture, design, implementation, and operations experience is an asset
- Able to present ideas to internal client groups and communicate effectively with both technical and non-technical stakeholders
- Prioritization skills, acute attention to detail with demonstrated experience analyzing and implementing data quality solutions
