About the role
- Structural Engineer specializing in analyzing and designing steel connections at Apex Structural Engineering providing innovative project delivery. Collaborate on diverse projects to enhance efficiency and deliver impactful solutions.
Responsibilities
- Structural analysis for delegated steel connection design projects
- Steel connection design, miscellaneous steel design, and erection engineering
- Calculation development, steel shop drawing reviews, and submittal preparation
- RFI development and new calculation development to enhance efficiencies
- Utilizing analysis software programs such as Ram Connection, RISA Connection, Excel, Idea Statica, BlueBeam, Trimble Connect, and Revit
- Reviewing 3-D BIM models to aid in building design
- Maintaining oversight of project schedules, resource planning, and mitigation for all connection engineering tasks
- Collaborating with project managers, detailers, fabricators, and erectors to ensure seamless project executions and timely delivery
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in civil or structural engineering
- Master’s degree in civil or structural engineering is a plus
- PE certification
- 5+ years of structural engineering experience
- Advanced understanding of relevant building codes, materials, and standards
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
- Software skills with Ram Connection, RISA Connection, Excel, Idea Statica, BlueBeam, Trimble Connect and Revit are a plus
- Attention to detail, logical problem-solving skills, and strong organizational skills
- Ability to thrive under pressure and meet deadlines
- Passion for steel design and growing professional knowledge and skills in steel construction.
- Diploma/Certificate.
- American Citizenship/Legally able to work in the United States of America.
