About the role
- Staff Infrastructure System Engineer at Ledger designing and administering systems infrastructure in high availability environments. Collaborating within a dynamic, international team to implement innovative infrastructure solutions.
Responsibilities
- Design, configure and administer systems infrastructure including core services, internal tools, monitoring solutions, and bare-metal servers
- Research, pilot, integrate, and implement new technologies and infrastructure solutions
- Support and contribute to the delivery of source code version management, continuous integration tools, and package management solutions
- Accurately size and forecast systems work packages within the infrastructure domain
- Act as the point of escalation for the design or setup of any systems delivery
- Monitor, optimize, troubleshoot, diagnose, and resolve hardware or software incidents and problems
- Protect data, software, and hardware by coordinating, planning, and implementing security measures
- Configure, monitor, and maintain backup and replication routines and organize disaster recovery readiness
- Ensure Ledger's infrastructure systems documentation is kept up to date
Requirements
- Minimum 10 years of experience in Linux system administration and management in high-availability environments
- Experience with virtualization and containerization environments (Kubernetes, Docker, Proxmox)
- Hands-on experience with configuration management tools such as Ansible and Infrastructure-as-Code solutions such as SaltStack or Terraform
- Working knowledge of system monitoring tools, especially Prometheus
- Knowledge of encryption and PKI technologies
- Highly motivated and self-driven with proven ability to work autonomously
- Strong communication skills — able to communicate, persuade, explain, and justify technical choices
- Honest and realistic
- Creative problem-solving and solution assessment skills with the ability to identify, develop, and implement solutions to meet business needs
