About the role
- Senior Physical Engineer in Utility Substation group providing engineering design and analysis. Supporting client projects and ensuring quality deliverables within budget and timeline.
Responsibilities
- Perform engineering design and analysis under the responsible charge of a Professional Engineer.
- Support client projects and provide quality deliverables that are on time and within the defined budget.
- Implement the NEI Quality Assurance Plan.
- Check the work of designers, drafters, and engineers for overall quality and accuracy.
- Train junior level engineers and designers in areas of physical design of electrical substations.
- Write technical go-bys and training documents.
- Assist with the creation and enforcement of technical standards across the department.
- Manage deliverables and deadlines to ensure they are submitted on time.
- Provide coaching and mentoring to Team Members.
- Perform occasional field inspection and construction supervision services when needed.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree with a focus in Civil / Structural or Mechanical from an accredited institution is preferred.
- 5+ years of relevant engineering or field experience.
- FE or PE preferred.
- Proficiency with AutoCAD, MathCAD, and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Effective written and oral communication skills.
- Good interpersonal skills.
