Senior Economic Research Analyst collaborating on financial analysis and insights for strategic decision-making in Commercial Banking. Duties include data analysis, stakeholder engagement, and market insights.
Responsibilities
Analyze data in financial statements, press releases and other sources to create and update comprehensive industry and competitor models including, but not limited to, market share, growth projections and trends, and market forces
Provide market and competitive insights through presentations and reports to the Executive Leadership Team, plus various internal management teams to allow effective strategic and tactical decision-making and implementation
Develop and maintain relationships with key internal stakeholders to identify emerging needs and business challenges
Maintain up-to-date knowledge of data sources, evaluating their credibility and potential utility, and leverage them across the company where appropriate
Use creative thinking and problem solving to research, analyze, and outline data-driven insights that identify trends among peers and the commercial banking industry
Leverage professional needs assessment (reference interviewing) as well as written and verbal communication skills to understand and deliver on the research and analysis needs of commercial leaders
Apply visualization techniques to internal and external data sources to communicate in a more effective manner
Perform other duties as assigned
Requirements
Bachelor's Degree in business, finance, economics, or a related field
Familiarity with financial services, especially commercial banking
High competency creating financial, statistical, and qualitative data analysis of markets and competitors
Strong articulator with the proven ability to present to senior management
Documented success in roles which demonstrate critical thinking, analytical, and strategic thinking skills
Strong ability to manage ambiguity/complexity and possesses initiative and the willingness to take ownership of work and projects
Excellent written and verbal communication skills with a proven ability to interact effectively across all organizational levels
Work effectively in teams as well as independently across multiple tasks while meeting aggressive timelines
Ensure all work meets compliance with legal and regulatory requirements
Related experience in market or competitive research, financial analysis, investor relations, or a related field
