About the role
- DevOps Engineer focusing on Linux and Automation in a leading IT service provider. Working on international projects and automating Linux-based infrastructures with modern tools.
Responsibilities
- Support technically challenging projects in large, often international client environments
- Design, develop and automate Linux-based infrastructures — particularly RHEL — using Ansible and Terraform
- Gather and analyze technical customer requirements in existing or new environments
- Install, integrate and migrate larger IT infrastructure systems according to customer requirements
- Operate and continuously optimize customer RHEL-based Linux server landscapes
- Ensure smooth system operations, including monitoring (e.g., Checkmk), patching, troubleshooting and performance optimization
Requirements
- Completed degree in (business) computer science or vocational training in an IT-related field
- Solid experience administering Linux server infrastructures, ideally with RHEL (8.3 or higher)
- Deep knowledge of automation with Ansible, preferably including Ansible Tower/AWX
- Experience with modern infrastructure technologies such as Terraform, Kubernetes and CI/CD pipelines
- Knowledge of configuring and operating web servers such as Apache HTTP and Apache Tomcat
- Experience connecting and managing MS SQL databases and working with monitoring tools (Checkmk) is an advantage
- Ideally experience creating and maintaining scripts (e.g., Bash, Python) to automate operational processes
