Senior Lawyer managing judicial credit recovery processes for Sicredi cooperatives in Brazil. Collaborating cross-functionally and providing strategic legal guidance in a hybrid work environment.
Responsibilities
Work in the Civil and Criminal Litigation Unit of the Sicredi Administrative Center (CAS), located in Porto Alegre, serving central and member cooperatives that comprise the Sicredi system; oversee, direct and manage the portfolio of judicial credit recovery and judicial reorganization cases under the unit's responsibility.
Monitor, direct and manage judicial credit recovery and judicial reorganization cases carried out by outside law firms, guiding and defining defense, appeals and settlement strategies.
Analyze scenarios and different situations from the perspective of the courts, using interpretation of legislation, doctrine and up-to-date jurisprudence to provide inputs and alternative perspectives for decision-making, assessing risks and proposing viable solutions for internal clients.
Review cases, jurisprudential trends and concrete matters to propose business improvements.
Draft responses to inquiries and legal opinions on complex topics, always using objective language that is accessible to internal clients.
Develop training and systemic legal guidance that promote a consistent understanding of the various issues that affect the daily operations of credit cooperatives (examples: extension of rural credit, judicial recovery, among others), support continuous internal training and improve understanding of the different aspects of the products and services Sicredi offers to its members.
Work collaboratively with other management teams within the Legal Superintendency (Business and Legal Operations) and with other CAS areas.
Participate in various committees and associations, representing Sicredi.
Requirements
Law degree with active registration with the Brazilian Bar Association (OAB).
Postgraduate specialization in Law and Civil Procedure.
Knowledge and practical experience in debt recovery, judicial reorganization and strategic litigation.
Ability to analyze multiple aspects of the same issue, negotiation skills, organization, attention to detail, ability to prioritize and meet deadlines.
Preferred: advanced English.
