About the role
- Research Data Analyst impacting cattle production industry with data insights and collaboration in research team. Focus on data extraction, validation, and visualization for better cattle health and management processes.
Responsibilities
- Verify large datasets: Support the Research Team with your data extraction, data cleaning and verification, and data visualization (tables, charts, graphs, etc.) skills
- Query Data : Write and modify queries for efficient data extraction and manipulation
- Problem Solve : Use your critical thinking skills to reconcile biologically important data related to animal health, cattle performance, and carcass characteristic outcomes
- Foster Team Success : Regularly collaborate with the Research Data Team, the Research Projects Team, and our veterinarians and animal scientists to ensure clear communication and effective teamwork on research datasets
- Develop your skills : Over time, transferable skill development is expected in the areas of data analysis (SAS), sample size calculation, and verification of data from a number of different study designs
Requirements
- Minimum of Master’s degree in Animal Science, Veterinary Epidemiology, or an animal-related field
- Up to 2 years experience in handling large datasets, including skills in data verification, data visualization, and statistical analysis
- Exceptional attention to detail with a focus on ensuring accurate data summarization and consistent document formatting
- Strong coordination and problem-solving abilities
- Proficiency in Google Workspace, Microsoft Word, Excel, Access, PowerPoint
- Experience working within the cattle production sector
