About the role
- Legal Trainee at Maltese maritime legal and financial services firm. Assist with vessel registration, ship sale transactions, client casework, and legal documentation.
Responsibilities
- Support the legal team in various different tasks that can change on a day-to-day basis
- Participate in the drafting all documentation required for vessel registration under the Malta flag
- Handle all legal aspects of ship sale and purchase transactions of Malta-flagged vessels
- Assist with day-to-day casework and liaise directly with clients and relevant authorities
- Manage individual client relationships independently
Requirements
- A law degree (ideally, but not necessarily, within maritime or shipping)
- Not yet warranted lawyer is acceptable
- Prior experience with maritime law / ship registration would be considered an asset
- Passion for law and the maritime industry
- Able to work effectively under pressure and is results-oriented
- Articulate and able to communicate in English, both written and verbally
