About the role
- Junior Full Stack Developer focusing on data engineering at AnaVation, a leader in technical challenges for the U.S. Federal Intelligence Community. Develop scalable, data-driven applications supporting mission objectives.
Responsibilities
- Develop, maintain, and optimize data pipelines, APIs, and backend systems primarily using Python and SQL.
- Design and implement relational database models (PostgreSQL, MySQL, or MS SQL Server).
- Write and maintain shell scripts for data automation, ETL processes, and deployment tasks.
- Work with both structured and unstructured data, ensuring high-quality and reliable data processing.
- Collaborate with product and data teams to align data solutions with mission requirements, use cases, and end-user experience goals.
- Support front-end integration with backend services, and contribute to full-stack development efforts as needed.
- Participate in Agile development cycles, including sprint planning, code reviews, and daily stand-ups.
- Assist in implementing DevOps practices and continuous integration/continuous deployment (CI/CD) pipelines.
- Contribute to containerized environments using Docker, Kubernetes, or similar technologies.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, or related field (or equivalent experience).
- 1–3 years of professional experience in software or data engineering roles.
- Proficiency in Python and SQL.
- Solid understanding of relational database design and experience with PostgreSQL, MySQL, or MS SQL Server.
- Experience with shell scripting (e.g., Bash).
- Proven ability to analyze and work with structured and unstructured data.
- Strong technical and computational skills, with the ability to relate data to business or mission objectives and user needs.
