About the role
- Mid-level environmental scientist at InterAgency, Inc. involved in infrastructure projects, collaborating on environmental permitting and regulatory compliance in the DC area.
Responsibilities
- Prepare federal, state and local permit applications and manage the review and processing of permits
- Prepare NEPA documents
- Advise clients on environmental permitting and regulatory requirements through preliminary desktop assessments and detailed permit matrices
- Collaborate with project team leader to ensure data accuracy, completeness and that client’s expectations are met for scope, budget, schedule and quality
- Support development of technical proposals
- Follow safety protocols and guidelines during fieldwork
- Author Environmental Management Plans
- Administer ESC, SWM
- Mentor junior environmental team members
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in environmental science or related field.
- 7+ years of environmental consulting experience
- Proven knowledge of Clean Water Act and related regulations, including §7 of Endangered Species Act and §106 of National Historic Preservation Act (see preferred qualifications)
- Demonstrated experience managing environmental permitting and regulatory compliance for large-scale infrastructure projects
- Excellent communication skills and ability to work as part of a team
- Ability to manage multiple projects under tight deadlines.
