About the role
- Director, Master Data Management leading centralized data governance for supply chain operations at a global health care leader. Focused on SAP master data improvement and collaboration across research and manufacturing.
Responsibilities
- Lead a centralized team responsible for governance, stewardship, and continuous improvement of master data for the end-to-end (E2E) supply chain
- Establish and operationalize standardized processes
- Own data management strategy and execution readiness
- Ensure reliable, validated data at point of entry to enable automation, analytics, and efficient pack, label, and distribution operations
- Partner cross-functionally with Research & Development Division and Manufacturing Division to drive data standardization and quality
- Build, lead, and develop a centralized MDM team
- Set objectives, monitor performance, and foster a culture of continuous improvement and accountability
- Serve as central point-of-contact interfacing across divisions to ensure standardized requirements and harmonized strategy
- Drive alignment among global stakeholders on master data definitions, templates, and system usage
- Promote automation and AI readiness by ensuring the integrity of master data
- Identify and prioritize opportunities for tooling, SAP improvements, and data management automation
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in supply chain, Information Systems, Engineering, Life Sciences, Business Administration, or related field
- Advanced degree preferred
- Minimum 10+ years of progressive experience in master data management, SAP material master governance, or supply chain data leadership; at least 5 years in a leadership role
- Deep knowledge of SAP material master data structures, processes (MM/SD/PP/WM), and change control within a global manufacturing environment
- Demonstrated experience establishing centralized MDM operating models, data governance frameworks, and stewardship programs at scale
- Strong cross-functional collaboration skills with experience interfacing with Manufacturing, Quality, IT/SAP, and Commercial teams
- Proven track-record implementing data quality frameworks and metrics and driving measurable improvements in data accuracy and process adherence
- Experience with data validation tools, master data management platforms, SAP data migration/cleaning projects, or automation initiatives
