Forecast Analyst optimizing rider availability at Glovo in Spain. Ensuring efficient operations through data analysis and actionable insights.
Responsibilities
Own rider demand forecasts at city-hour-3PL level, tracking accuracy (MAPE) and bias (BIAS) to continuously improve performance.
Incorporate external drivers such as special events, football matches, and weather into forecasts.
Build dashboards and reporting tools to visualize key metrics and trends.
Simplify and automate forecasting processes, collaborating with tech teams to implement scalable solutions.
Translate forecasts into actionable recommendations for rider allocation, operational planning, and efficiency optimization.
Collaborate with Spanish operations and other stakeholders to validate forecasts and identify proactive adjustments.
Analyze patterns, trends, and anomalies to improve resource planning and overall service performance.
Requirements
Bachelor’s degree in Business, Data Analytics, Math, Statistics, Engineering, or a related field.
1-3 years of experience in data analysis, business intelligence, or a similar analytical role, preferably within the logistics, e-commerce, or gig economy sectors.
Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex data accurately and extract actionable insights.
Proficiency in SQL, Excel/Google Sheets
Experience with data visualization tools (e.g., Tableau, Looker Studio).
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills in English.
Proactive, self-starter with a strong sense of ownership and accountability.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
Nice to have: Python or R for data analysis
Experience with forecasting models, logistics, or operational planning.
Spanish language skills (useful for local collaboration).
