Responsibilities
Design and engineer composite components for motorsport applications
Provide technical engineering solutions for lightweight composite problems and designs
3D design (surface design) of composite components across multiple vehicle projects, external (bodywork) and internal
3D detailed design CAD models and assembly installations plus related 2D technical manufacturing and assembly drawings using Catia V5
Define joint design, adhesive and fixing strategies
Generate and define Ply books / laminates with composite and FEA engineers
Support test and validation of composite components plus support design of any required test jigs and or rigs
Support vehicle and test car builds and problem solve technical related issues
Work with suppliers to support tool design, layup optimization and manufacturability of composite components
Requirements
Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical, Automotive or Aeronautical engineering or similar background
At least 2 to 3 years of experience in a comparable environment working with high performance parts
Have a strong composites background with a solid understanding of materials science and mechanical engineering fundamentals
Good knowledge of CAD (CATIA V5 preferable) and 2D or 3D GD&T technical drawing experience
Experience and knowledge of surface design is a plus
Knowledge of PLM System (Windchill preferable)
Ability to complete tasks with minimal guidance and to work under pressure to meet deadlines
Fluent English is compulsory
