Senior Manager overseeing GAAP-compliant audited financial statements and compliance reporting for the university. Managing a team and ensuring adherence to regulations and standards while collaborating across financial services.
Responsibilities
Oversee the University’s GAAP-compliant audited financial statements, Uniform Guidance audit requirements, indirect cost rate development, recharge center financial statements and compliance, and internal control documentation.
Ensure adherence to federal regulations, accounting standards, and institutional policies while partnering across Financial Services and the University.
Supervise five (5) staff (4 direct) involved in cost analysis, external reporting, and space/recharge center compliance activities.
Manage preparation of WashU's annual GAAP audited financial statements and Uniform Guidance (Single Audit) including coordination with external auditors.
Review components prepared by technical staff to ensure accuracy, completeness, and compliance with guidance.
Support reporting for NSF, IPEDS, benefit plans, and other institutional filings.
Oversee preparation and distribution by the Indirect Cost Analyst of recharge center financial statements and summary reports to senior management.
Assure reporting reflects OMB Uniform Guidance (UG) and University policy.
Monitor compliance with university policy with respect to centers accumulating operating surplus or deficit.
Oversee documentation and evaluation of internal control processes aligned to COSO.
Requirements
Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
Three years of public accounting or Five years of progressively responsible financial reporting experience.
Prior supervisory experience.
Certified Public Accountant (CPA) strongly preferred.
Demonstrated knowledge of GAAP, federal Uniform Guidance, and internal controls.
Prior experience in a university or non-profit environment.
