Data Engineer responsible for developing and optimizing analytical data models in a hybrid work environment. Collaborating with teams to ensure data quality and reporting standards for a modern bank.
Responsibilities
Develop, optimize and operate analytical data models, data products and queries (focus on SQL and Spark)
Model, transform and document data models using dbt as the framework
Build and enhance reporting and analytics solutions with Power BI (data products, semantic models, performance optimization)
Integrate, transform and ensure the quality of data from various source systems
Implement data pipelines following defined data architectures and data-lineage requirements
Collaborate closely with business units to translate business requirements into robust technical data models
Perform ad-hoc analyses and provide technical support for existing reports and dashboards
Contribute to the further development of our data platforms, modeling and reporting standards
Requirements
Completed technical education (HTL, degree, ...)
Degree or equivalent qualification in (business) computer science, Data Engineering, Data Science or a related field
Several years of practical experience with SQL, ideally in a Microsoft or Exasol environment
Strong knowledge of Power BI (data modeling, DAX, performance tuning)
Initial hands-on experience with dbt (SQL-based transformations, tests, documentation)
Experience with Microsoft-based data architectures (e.g., MS SQL, Microsoft Fabric or Azure Synapse, Azure Data Factory or equivalent)
Understanding of data models, data flows, data lineage and technical reporting architectures
Structured, solution-oriented working style with a strong affinity for data and quality
Ability to communicate technical topics clearly and appropriately to different audiences
Team player with initiative and strong execution skills
Very good German and good English language skills
