Postdoctoral Research Fellow conducting impactful research in cyber security and cyberpsychology at UQ. Collaborating with industry leaders to contribute to advancements in the field.
Responsibilities
Establish a research program, collaborate on research projects, seek and manage research funding, publish in reputable journals
Contribute to teaching of undergraduate courses as required
Supervise students, recruit and manage employees, provide performance feedback and training, resolve conflicts
Manage a range of research project activities within the UQ Cyber Research Centre
Strengthen the School’s relationships with industry, government, professional bodies and the broader community
Coordinate industry or academic engagement activities linked to the UQ Cyber–IDCARE partnership
Lead and contribute to government policy consultations and engagement with relevant agencies
Design, prepare and manage competitive research grant applications that align with agreed research priorities
Assist in the guest lecturing work of cyber security undergraduate and graduate subjects in the Master of Cyber Security program and other programs as required
Develop and deliver courses, engage in curriculum design, coordinate courses, assess students
Requirements
Completion or near completion of a PhD in the area of cyber security, computer science, software engineering, electrical and electronics engineering, mechatronics, information systems, mathematics or applied cryptography.
An emerging profile in research in cyber security, cyber resilience or cyberpsychology.
Evidence of publications in reputed refereed journals and presenting at conferences.
Evidence of contributions towards successfully obtaining external research funding.
Some experience in meaningful internal service roles and contributions towards external activities.
PhD in the area of cyber security, computer science, software engineering, electrical and electronics engineering, mechatronics, information systems, management, psychology, law, statistics, mathematics or applied cryptography.
Expert knowledge in the interdisciplinary fields of cyber security, cyber resilience or cyberpsychology with strong knowledge in experimental design and statistical/empirical analysis.
Technical capability in behavioural and organisational cyber security, and desirable experience applying AI or machine learning to cyber security contexts.
Proven publishing ability across technical, sociotechnical and social/political science.
Strong track record and pipeline of publications into top journals and conferences.
An ability to establish effective relationships and to represent and promote academic discipline at a university and wider community level, including industry, government and professional bodies.
Evidence of a contribution to research, including successful external grant applications.
Ability to work collaboratively with colleagues.
Must maintain unrestricted work rights in Australia for the duration of this appointment to apply.
