About the role
- Principal Engineer providing strategic leadership for Proxy tools at Truist. Architecting resilient solutions and guiding cross-functional initiatives for better internet access and control.
Responsibilities
- Serve as the strategic owner of Proxy internet access and control platforms
- Define and evolve the Proxy internet access and control roadmap
- Provide expert analysis and recommendations on strategic direction
- Architect and maintain scalable, resilient Proxy solutions
- Lead technical deep dives and architecture reviews
- Guide creation and management of access control policy
- Partner with incident response teams for rapid containment
- Establish and maintain Proxy standards and policies
- Mentor engineers and analysts, fostering a culture of continuous learning
- Lead cross-functional initiatives for enterprise resilience
Requirements
- 8–12+ years of experience in cybersecurity engineering or related fields
- Bachelor’s degree in Information Systems-related field or equivalent education
- Deep expertise with modern proxy internet access and control platforms (e.g., Zscaler, Forcepoint)
- Strong understanding of web proxy technologies and protocols, SSL inspection, URL filtering, PAC file management
- Proven experience driving strategy or leading enterprise-scale security initiatives
- Excellent communication skills for influencing senior stakeholders
- Strong business and financial acumen
- Ability to establish strong relationships and unify activities within the technology community
- Ability to create and manage change and new business models (preferred 15 years experience)
