About the role
- Financial Compliance Sr. Advisor responsible for supporting SOX and SOC 1 compliance for the Evernorth segment. Collaborating with various stakeholders to ensure robust internal controls.
Responsibilities
- Assisting with overall Sarbanes Oxley (SOX) and SOC 1 compliance for the Evernorth segment
- Focusing on business process internal controls
- Collaborating with control owners in assessing the design of internal controls
- Supporting remediation activity necessary for internal control deficiencies under SOX and SOC 1
- Reporting to the Director of Financial Compliance
- Interacting with business partners throughout the organization as well as external and internal audit teams
- Leading control assessment activities related to business project initiatives
- Liaising with internal and external auditors and process and control owners
- Providing guidance and direction to team members
- Building and maintaining relationships with key business partners
- Collaborating with business owners in process improvement initiatives
Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree required
- 8-10+ years public accounting experience including SOX and/or SOC 1 internal controls testing, preferred CPA, CISA, or CIA strongly preferred
- Strong understanding of technology and business process internal controls and risk assessment.
- Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel and Visio
- Excellent project management and organizational skills
- Strong interpersonal skills and ability to interact with control owners and other stakeholders including internal and external auditors.
- Demonstrated ability to effectively manage multiple deliverables and meet deadlines
- Self-starter, quick learner and team player
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to work independently and proactively identify when complex items require escalation.
