About the role

  • Legal Secretary providing administrative and secretarial support to bar counsels in Orlando. Responsible for maintaining case management files, coordinating meetings, and handling correspondence.

Responsibilities

  • Provide administrative and secretarial assistance to bar counsels
  • Maintain and monitor disciplinary files in the case management system
  • Type and finalize drafted pleadings, correspondence, and meeting minutes and agendas
  • Coordinate monthly grievance committee meetings and assist committee members
  • Answer telephone and make case notes
  • Maintain bar counsels' calendars and coordinate meetings
  • Send outgoing mail and prepare travel requests and expense reports

Requirements

  • High School Diploma (or its equivalency)
  • Five (5) years of progressively responsible secretarial experience
  • Correct spelling, punctuation and grammar
  • Standard business formats and styles
  • Legal terminology
  • Style and format of legal pleadings
  • Office procedures and practices
  • Proficient in Adobe Acrobat
  • Proficient in MS Word, MS Excel, MS Outlook, Lotus Notes or similar databases
  • Ability to type sixty (60) correct words per minute
  • Demonstrated attention to detail
  • Ability to communicate effectively and professionally, both verbally and in writing
  • Ability to handle multiple tasks and operate well under pressure
