About the role
- Safety Engineer delivering key safety engineering activities for defence projects at Thales. Engaging with project teams and customers to ensure safety requirements are met across systems.
Responsibilities
- Deliver key safety engineering activities for leading defence projects
- Ensure safety requirements are met at key project milestones
- Provide expert safety guidance to project teams
- Engage directly with customers on safety matters
- Ensure all processes meet Thales standards and industry regulations
- Raise and investigate safety concerns
- Support assurance across all systems
Requirements
- Strong knowledge of safety management processes
- Experience delivering safety engineering work including use of tools and techniques such as FTA, FMECA & GSN
- Confident in hazard identification and use of hazard log management tools
- Confident in the development of Safety Cases and fully conversant with the ALARP principle
- Defence experience is valued; other safety-critical backgrounds are welcome
- Knowledge of functional or software safety and IEC 61508 is an advantage
- Must understand the engineering lifecycle
- Knowledge of Environmental Management/EcoDesign and Human Factors are advantageous but not required
