About the role
- Infrastructure Architect leading the architecture and design of IT infrastructure for Telesat Lightspeed. Collaborating with teams to ensure effective resource management and design decisions.
Responsibilities
- Lead the architecture and design of IT infrastructure essential for the development of Telesat Lightspeed.
- Manage strategy, deliverables, documentation, and final design in collaboration with existing teams.
- Own the overall IT infrastructure design for Telesat Lightspeed.
- Ensure current and evolving IT resource requirements are captured, tracked, analyzed, and costed.
- Engage with stakeholders regularly and present design decisions at both technical and financial levels.
Requirements
- University degree or equivalent experience in Computer Science or related stream.
- Must have at least 7 years’ experience in the installation, configuration and operation of data centre based environments including servers, storage and networking.
- Must have at least 5 years’ experience in building out on-premise, secure data centre based hardware clusters (network, servers and storage).
- Must have at least 5 years’ experience in design, building and managing enterprise networks including network switches, firewalls and related monitoring.
- Proven experience in the deployment and operation of Cloud-based infrastructure is required.
- Proven experience in the deployment and operation of hypervisors (VMware, KVM) is required.
