About the role
- Project Engineer overseeing construction surveillance ensuring adherence to plans and providing safety assurance. Collaborating with multi-disciplinary teams on large-scale engineering projects.
Responsibilities
- Conduct site supervision of works as efficiently, thoroughly, and consistently as possible to ensure that constructed or repaired structures fully comply with plans and specifications while remaining safe and durable.
- Be present on site during the contractor’s working hours to confirm the contractor’s presence, monitor the work, and provide a prompt response in case of unforeseen events.
- Plan and carry out supervision for all types of work.
- Plan, perform and document in detail all inspections and verifications applicable to the works under supervision.
Requirements
- Be a licensed engineer and a member of the Ordre des ingénieurs du Québec (OIQ).
- Have at least eight (8) years of relevant experience as an engineer supervising construction works or the repair of civil engineering structures (e.g., bridges and other infrastructure).
- Have three (3) years of experience preparing plans and specifications for civil engineering structures.
- Demonstrate relevant experience coordinating a multidisciplinary team.
- Have completed two (2) projects of a scale comparable to the contract.
