About the role
- Associate Legal Counsel at Swiss Re navigating complex legal landscapes in India. Providing strategic legal guidance and managing diverse legal matters in a collaborative environment.
Responsibilities
- Provide strategic legal guidance relating to Swiss Re's business activities across India
- Handle governance matters and support the Bangalore Legal Head & Company Secretary in Corporate Governance initiatives
- Manage corporate legal affairs including corporate filings and interactions with statutory authorities
- Address employment matters by providing expert legal advice and support
- Draft and review various legal documents including contracts, petitions, and legal notices
- Support internal investigations and manage litigation while coordinating with stakeholders including law firms, auditors, and consultants
- Monitor regulatory developments and analyze their impact on Swiss Re's business operations in India
- Contribute to regional initiatives as part of the APAC Legal & Compliance team
Requirements
- India qualified lawyer with 8-12 years post-qualification experience (PQE), preferably with Bar Council registration
- Demonstrated experience in corporate governance, statutory compliance, and employment law matters
- Proven ability to draft and review various legal documents including contracts and legal notices
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English (local language proficiency preferred)
- Experience in managing litigation and coordinating with external stakeholders
