About the role
- Senior Data Governance professional designing and implementing data governance frameworks. Working closely with clients to align governance with data architectures and business needs at SunnyData.
Responsibilities
- Design and implement data governance frameworks that ensure data quality, security, and compliance.
- Define and implement a data governance strategy that ensures trusted, high-quality, and compliant data.
- Enable business and analytics teams to make better decisions through well-governed data assets.
- Act as a key advisor on data ownership, stewardship, and accountability models.
- Support analytics, data platform, and AI initiatives by ensuring data is reliable, secure, and discoverable.
Requirements
- 5+ years of experience in Data Governance, Data Management, or related roles.
- Strong knowledge of data governance frameworks (DAMA Certification).
- Hands-on experience with data quality, metadata management, and data cataloging.
- Example DQ/DG Tool: Allation, Informatica, Anjana, etc.
- Solid understanding of data platforms, data lakes, and cloud environments.
- Experience working with cross-functional teams (business, data, IT, security).
- Strong communication skills with the ability to influence stakeholders.
- Ability to translate business needs into governance policies and standards.
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Data Management, or a related field.
- Advanced degree or certifications in Data Governance / Data Management are a plus.
