About the role
- Azure Cloud Engineer responsible for structuring, stabilizing, and governing Azure Tenant at Sunfire. Implementing cost management and compliance processes in the cloud environment.
Responsibilities
- Take responsibility for structuring and stabilizing the Azure tenant for the long term
- Analyze an existing Azure environment and develop a robust target architecture
- Define binding standards such as naming conventions and tagging policies
- Establish governance guardrails for compliance transparency
- Manage costs based on FinOps principles and implement a cost-tagging strategy
- Develop and implement a clear RBAC and least-privilege model for Azure
- Produce clear documentation, runbooks and guidelines
- Support Microsoft 365 / Entra ID basics for cloud governance
Requirements
- Degree in a STEM field or equivalent vocational training with relevant, demonstrable practical experience
- Extensive hands-on experience in Azure platform and tenant management
- Strong knowledge of Azure governance mechanisms
- Experience with tagging and naming standards
- Knowledge of FinOps and cost management
- Knowledge of RBAC models and access control in the Azure / Entra context
- Practical experience with Infrastructure as Code and DevOps fundamentals
- Confident communication skills in German and English
