About the role
- Lead SDET ensuring the quality of backend persistence services at S&P Global. Collaborate with teams in an Agile environment to enhance testing automation and efficiency.
Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and execute test cases (manual and automated) across UI, API, and data layers.
- Participate actively in Agile ceremonies and collaborate closely with cross-functional teams to define, design, and ship new features.
- Apply STLC principles throughout the testing process: from requirement analysis to test closure.
- Develop and apply testing processes for new and existing products to meet client needs.
- Perform functional, system, regression, and exploratory testing.
- Monitor debugging process results and adjust test strategies accordingly.
- Write and maintain automated test scripts using tools such as Selenium, Cypress, or similar.
- Verify data accuracy and consistency using SQL or other database languages.
- Collaborate in requirement reviews, design discussions, and code reviews with a quality-first mindset.
- Identify defects early and provide clear documentation of issues, test results, and coverage gaps.
- Continuously explore and implement new testing tools and methodologies to improve efficiency and effectiveness.
- Provide timely and accurate quality assurance metrics to stakeholders.
Requirements
- 4+ years of experience in software testing or development with solid understanding of STLC, coding, and debugging.
- Strong knowledge of Agile processes and Scrum practices.
- Strong knowledge of software QA methodologies, tools, and processes.
- Experience in writing clear, concise, and comprehensive test plans and test cases.
- Experience with performance and/or security testing is a plus.
- Proficiency in SQL or any database language for test data setup and validation.
- Hands-on experience in test planning, test case design, and defect management.
- Strong programming skills in Python, Java, C#, or similar.
- Experience with test automation frameworks/tools (e.g., Selenium, Playwright, Cypress ) across application layers.
- Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines, DevOps practices, and version control (Git).
- Excellent problem-solving, analytical, and communication skills.
- Nice to Have: Experience in refactoring and extending automation frameworks.
- Exposure to Appian/PowerApps or any other Business Process Management (BPM) / Workflow Automation platform.
- Certifications such as Certified Software Tester (CSTE) or ISTQB Certified Tester.
