About the role

Responsibilities
- Facilitate the delivery of technology solutions for a wide-ranging portfolio of exciting local and global projects.
- Lead the delivery of data projects using agile methodologies, ensuring alignment with strategic objectives and technical requirements.
- Responsible for leading the delivery of data-focused initiatives across Specsavers ANZ, ensuring alignment with strategic goals and the broader data strategy.
- Manage scope, timelines and quality standards, while driving the effective execution of prioritised backlogs in line with business objectives and technical requirements.
Requirements
- Proven track record in leading data-centric IT projects through the full project lifecycle—from initiation to transition to support—including planning, stakeholder engagement, backlog prioritisation, and delivery monitoring (At least 5 years is essential)
- Proven ability to lead cross-functional teams including Data Engineers, Data Analysts, Business Analysts, Test Analysts and Reporting Analysts, ensuring alignment between business needs and technical execution.
- Experience managing software development and data platform initiatives, including exposure to technologies such as Azure Data Factory, Databricks, and Power BI.
- Deep knowledge of agile delivery methodologies, with hands-on experience in agile ceremonies, backlog refinement, and sprint planning for data initiatives.
- Exceptional communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to build trust-based relationships and translate complex data concepts into business-friendly language.
- Strong understanding of project management principles, methodologies & best practice and have worked in agile delivery methods
- Formal project management qualifications are desirable (e.g., Prince2, Agile), especially where applied to data transformation or analytics initiatives.
