About the role

  • Procurement Manager directing sourcing operations in LATAM with a focus on cost reduction and supplier performance. Managing a team and collaborating with global stakeholders for strategic procurement.

Responsibilities

  • The Direct Materials Procurement Manager LATAM will lead direct material procurement within the LATAM region
  • Achieve cost reduction and cash flow targets in alignment with regional Supply Chain and Business organizations
  • Lead a team of 3-4 direct reports towards the same responsibilities
  • Be a Global Category Lead for 1 or 2 categories, setting material strategies and leading colleagues in North America, Europe, Middle East and Asia
  • Understand assigned categories including market analysis, creation of sourcing strategies, preparing and running requests for proposals, negotiating, implementing contracts and tracking supplier performance and results
  • Build and maintain positive, strategic partnerships with key suppliers
  • Identify, gain commitment and implement profit improvement opportunities
  • Identify and develop preferred supplier network and achieve supplier consolidation
  • Develop baseline costs and make vs. buy analysis modeling
  • Provide forward-looking guidance on regional trends, threats, and opportunities for target categories
  • Create risk mitigation and contingency plans
  • Collaborate and develop strong relationships with global and regional Sourcing, Supply Chain, R&D, and Marketing and other internal stakeholders
  • Understand and communicate KPIs with respect to PPV, OTIF, Working Capital and Cost Out
  • Oversee regular supplier audits and measure supplier performance
  • Manage intermittent supply issues and support planning organization to ensure supplier performance and compliance
  • Develop appropriate communications to advise Business of supplier performance

Requirements

  • Fluent in English, native Portuguese, good Spanish (or native Spanish, good Portuguese)
  • Bachelor’s Degree in applicable field of work, e.g. Business, Engineering, Chemistry
  • 3-5 years of relevant management experience with a focus on sourcing or supply chain
  • Experience with ERPs, supply chain collaboration and e-procurement tools such as SAP, Salesforce.com, Tableau and others
  • Excellent knowledge of typical professional computer programs including MS Word, Excel, Power Point
  • Ability to work effectively in a geographically distributed organization
  • Hands-on and problem-solving mentality
  • Ability to work in a matrix environment
  • Strong negotiating and project management skills
  • Strong organization
  • Strong written, oral communication, and presentation skills
  • Proven track record of driving results, ability to influence and work collaboratively in cross-regional and cross-functional teams
