About the role
- Sensor Architect managing vendor relationships and cross-functional collaboration for Spectacles team at Snap. Leading sensor development and qualification in a dynamic technology environment.
Responsibilities
- Manage vendor relationships for custom silicon sensor development and qualification
- Drive cross-functional collaboration across optics, computer vision, and compute teams
- Influence key architectural decisions and drive consensus on critical trade-offs
- Develop test methodologies and characterization plans for sensor performance
- Lead root cause analysis and implement corrective actions for sensor performance issues
- Travel up to 15%
Requirements
- 11+ years of post-Bachelor’s in optics, physics, electrical engineering, semiconductor devices experience in CMOS image sensor development and qualification ; or Master’s degree +10 years of post-grad experience; or PhD in a relevant technical field +7 years of post-grad experience
- Experience with single photon detectors (e.g. SPADs, jots, APDs, SiPMs, etc.)
- Knowledge optics and camera systems for imaging, depth mapping, and biometric sensing
- Skills with basic programming and data analysis (e.g., MATLAB, Python, etc.)
- Experience in electronic design and digital logic
- Ability to work independently and manage internal and external resources
- Ability to consider system level impacts and tradeoffs in a highly constrained platform
- Ability to analyze, organize and prioritize work while meeting multiple deadlines.
- Ability to collaborate and operate in a fast-paced cross-functional environment including engineering teams, vendors, suppliers, and outside resource management.
