Responsibilities
- Define and implement best practices, standards and guidelines for software development, including code reviews, testing, and deployment processes to ensure consistency and quality across the organization
- Driving a culture of excellence and continuous improvement, including setting high standards for quality, performance and reliability
- Ensuring organization talent composition aligns with strategic business priorities including workforce planning vital to provide increased value and results for clients and the business
- Supporting and empowering associates, to enable delivery of increased value in their teams, including coaching and mentoring team members to help them grow and develop their skills
- Enabling an agile and streamlined organization by demonstrating agile behaviors
- Influence strategic backlog and prioritization decisions partnering with product teams
- Measure performance through established objectives and critical metrics
Requirements
- 10+ years of technical hands-on experience in designing and building large scale resilient distributed systems
- Passion for leading, coaching and developing talent in engineering teams in a geographically dispersed agile organization
- Proven experience in leading technical design and estimation, ensuring alignment with enterprise architecture and governance controls
- Experience in leading front end engineering teams with modern JavaScript frameworks (Angular, TypeScript, Node, NPM, Rx JS) preferred
- Experienced in defining and promoting branching strategy, development and testing best practices with standard quality gates in CI/CD pipelines
- Broad knowledge of technology standards and best practices including dev ops practices, design principles, security, reliability, resilience, performance, etc.
- Promoting engineering excellence and continuous learning mindset
- Possess excellent interpersonal and communication skills to build and maintain strong partnerships and relationships at all levels of the organization
- Experienced in identifying and acquiring talent needs, resource planning, and talent allocation across large organizations
