About the role

  • Lab Manager overseeing IT lab operations at Shure. Managing network, equipment, and staff training with a focus on compliance and efficiency.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee the day-to-day operations of the IT lab, ensuring efficient workflows and optimal use of resources.
  • Develop, implement, and maintain IT lab policies, procedures, and safety protocols.
  • Ensure compliance with all regulatory standards and best practices.
  • Design, configure, and maintain lab network infrastructure, including LAN, WLAN, and VLAN implementations.
  • Manage network performance, security, and reliability.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve network issues in a timely manner.
  • Oversee the inventory, setup, maintenance, and troubleshooting of IT and audio-visual equipment.
  • Ensure the lab's machines and equipment are configured and functioning optimally.
  • Coordinate with vendors for equipment servicing, procurement, and upgrades.
  • Implement and manage the inventory system to track all lab equipment, components, materials, and supplies.
  • Plan and execute the setup of new IT lab spaces and the reorganization of existing spaces.
  • Provide technical support and training to lab personnel on the use of lab equipment and systems.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams on various projects and experiments.
  • Manage timelines, resources, and deliverables for lab-related projects.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 10 years of experience in IT lab management or a similar role.
  • Strong knowledge of network management, including VLAN configuration and troubleshooting.
  • Proficient in inventory management systems and practices.
  • Extensive experience in managing lab equipment.
  • Demonstrated ability to set up and organize lab environments efficiently.
  • Excellent organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
