About the role

• Design Director leading complex branding projects and managing teams at Sherpa Design GmbH. Focusing on strategic design and quality management for renowned clients.

Responsibilities

• Independently and successfully manage projects/clients of medium to large size and complexity
• Provide both functional and disciplinary leadership for a multi-person team
• Develop and review design strategies and brand design systems
• Identify the client’s strategic direction and anticipate its development in the near term
• Provide strategic and conceptual client consulting, including active participation in client meetings
• Experience designing and leading workshops is desirable
• Ensure quality management of the team’s creative output

Requirements

• Proven experience independently leading and managing complex branding projects involving multiple design disciplines
• Experience providing functional and disciplinary leadership for a multi-person team
• Confident application of strategic approaches to brand architectures and complex corporate structures
• Excellent design sensibility, creative talent, and strong conceptual skills, with the ability to present a broad range of ideas and styles
• High standards for the quality of your own work
• Conscientious, responsible, and structured approach to work
• Curiosity, strong communication skills, and ability to work well in a team (preferably you have previously provided functional leadership to 1–2 people)
• Proficient use of the relevant design software/tools
• Strong German and English language skills
