About the role
- Head of Accounting leading the Accounting team and ensuring compliance with financial processes in Berlin. Responsible for optimizing financial operations for top companies in the financial sector.
Responsibilities
- Overall professional and disciplinary leadership of the Accounting team
- Responsibility for the efficient and smooth execution of all financial accounting processes
- Ensuring compliance with all legal requirements as well as internal policies and standards
- Timely preparation and review of monthly, quarterly and annual financial statements
- Continuous optimization and further development of accounting processes
Requirements
- Degree in business administration or comparable qualification
- Proven leadership skills and experience managing accounting teams
- Very good practical knowledge of accounting under the German Commercial Code (HGB), basic knowledge of IFRS and a willingness to continue professional development; certified accounting specialist (Bilanzbuchhalter) or equivalent qualifications are an advantage but not required
- High degree of initiative, strong analytical skills and a structured way of working
- Business-fluent German and ideally good written and spoken English
