Electrical Design Engineer developing secure voice and networking communication systems for military applications in Puerto Rico. Contributing to advanced engineering design efforts at Collins Aerospace.
Responsibilities
Participate in the design and development of secure Voice and Networking communication products, including System on Chip (SoC)/System on Module (SoM), microcontrollers, and FPGA-based systems.
Contribute to the development and documentation of electronics packaging designs, schematic capture, and hardware requirements.
Assist in creating and maintaining procurement documentation, including Source Control Drawings (SCD), Interface Control Documents (ICD), and Top-Level Kit Drawings.
Support the creation and management of System Hardware Requirement Specifications (SHRS) to ensure compliance with program requirements.
Participate in Preliminary Engineering Review Process (PREP) reviews to ensure design integrity and alignment with program objectives.
Collaborate with internal teams to ensure products meet military and dual-use commercial application standards.
Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues with support from senior engineering staff.
Requirements
Typically requires a degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM)
Minimum 2 years of prior relevant experience or an Advanced Degree in a related field
Demonstrated professional experience communicating in English (verbal and written).
U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are authorized to access information under this program/contract.
Experience in electrical design and development, with a focus on communication systems or similar technologies.
Proficiency in schematic capture, hardware design, and electronics packaging.
Knowledge of microcontroller, FPGA, and SoC/SoM architectures.
Experience in creating technical documentation, such as SCDs, ICDs, and hardware requirement specifications.
Experience with military communication systems or dual-use technologies.
Familiarity with aircraft-certified end instruments or related systems.
Understanding of voice and networking communication standards.
