Mechanical Designer responsible for design and drafting of mechanical systems at EFI Global. Reporting to Engineering Department heads and collaborating within a team.
Responsibilities
Reporting to the Engineering Department heads
Mechanical Designers are primarily responsible for general design and drafting of mechanical systems within the manufacturing industry.
This includes general engineering drawings/document updates and participation in project meetings.
Candidates will have exceptional oral and written communication skills and must be proficient with 3D solid modelling and simulation software (i.e. SolidWorks).
They enjoy a dynamic working environment and are able to work well alone or within a multidisciplinary team.
They also must possess strong interpersonal and organizational skills.
Requirements
Successful completion of a Mechanical Engineering Degree.
Membership with Engineers Nova Scotia (EIT or P. Eng.)
1-year of co-op work term experience or greater in machine design and/or project management preferred.
Prior employment or work term experience with Michelin North America (Canada) Inc. an asset.
Strong preference given to candidates with experience using the following software packages; SolidWorks or CATIA, AutoCAD, DraftSight, SolidEdge
The ability to manage multiple project-related tasks
Must be self-directed and possess good self-discipline.
