About the role

  • Component Engineer designing safety-critical reactor components for Rolls-Royce SMR. Focusing on mechanical designs across the full product lifecycle with regulatory and supply chain integration.

Responsibilities

  • Developing and maturing mechanical component designs across the full product lifecycle
  • Integrating technical, manufacturing, regulatory and supply‑chain requirements into robust solutions
  • Owning elements of the digital product definition and supporting technical documentation
  • Identifying and mitigating technical risks while balancing performance, cost and schedule drivers

Requirements

  • A degree‑level qualification in Mechanical Engineering or a related discipline (or equivalent experience), with Chartered Engineer status or working towards it
  • Experience of mechanical or equipment design across product development lifecycles
  • Working knowledge of regulated engineering environments, design substantiation and component manufacturing routes
