Responsibilities
Define and champion the long-term cloud strategy and technical roadmap for all healthcare-focused applications and data platforms on AWS.
Provide architectural governance over solution designs, ensuring they are secure, cost-optimized, high-performing, and resilient.
Lead, mentor, and scale a high-performing team of Cloud Architects, DevOps Engineers, and Data Engineers.
Understand the architecture and integration requirements for clinical data systems (EMR/EHR, Lab Information Systems, Patient Portals).
Implement and manage FinOps practices to monitor, forecast, and optimize cloud spending.
Ensure all cloud-based solutions adhere to the highest standards of data security and privacy, particularly concerning patient health information (PHI).
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure seamless integration of cloud solutions with existing systems and workflows.
Develop and maintain comprehensive documentation for cloud infrastructure, architecture, and processes.
Requirements
8+ years of progressive experience in Information Technology, with at least 4 years in a leadership/Director role focused on Cloud Architecture and Delivery.
Extensive, hands-on experience designing and managing enterprise-scale solutions across core AWS services (S3, EC2, Lambda, EKS, RDS/Aurora, Redshift, Glue, SageMaker).
Deep operational and regulatory knowledge of the U.S. Healthcare industry, including payer, provider, or pharmaceutical sectors.
Proven track record of architecting and deploying solutions that meet HIPAA/HITECH security and privacy requirements.
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field; Master's degree preferred.
Strong understanding of cloud security principles and best practices.
Excellent communication, interpersonal, and leadership skills.
AWS Certified Solutions Architect – Professional or equivalent certification is highly desirable.
