Junior Payroll Specialist part of Alpega Group's international finance team. Handling payroll tasks, ensuring accuracy, and liaising with external stakeholders in Barcelona, Spain.
About the role
- Payroll Analyst executing payroll activities in collaboration with international expert consulting and compliance teams for PwC Poland. Support payroll processes with attention to quality and detail across diverse projects.
Responsibilities
- Execute payroll activities in line with procedures and customer requirements
- Validate payroll input files and reconcile payroll outputs
- Support country-specific or year-end processes as needed
- Support payroll payment processes - initiating uploads, monitoring rejected payments, manual payments
- Monitor timelines for sending payroll inputs and approving payrolls
- Handle discovered discrepancies in a timely and accurate manner, communicate any risks to payroll timelines or quality via escalation paths
- Handle employee payroll queries with accuracy and empathy, ensure timely follow-up and resolution of helpdesk tickets
- Maintain up-to-date helpdesk scenarios and documentation, keep process documentation and knowledge up to date
- Cooperate with third-party payroll providers and internal stakeholders
- Participate in knowledge sharing and shadowing sessions, actively support quality and process improvements and suggest enhancements.
Requirements
- Proficiency in English allowing for fluent communication both verbal and written
- Practical knowledge of MS Excel and other MS Office tools or Google equivalents
- Curiosity and willingness to learn quickly
- Ownership mindset and commitment to high-quality work
- Ability to manage tasks independently, work under time pressure and adapt to changing priorities
- Strong attention to detail and analytical thinking
- Problem-solving attitude and a positive mindset
- Experience in payroll, HR operations, or finance (Nice to have)
