About the role
- Home Health Physical Therapy Assistant working under a licensed PT to assist patients with therapy programs. Focusing on improving physical strength and overall quality of life while working independently.
Responsibilities
- Work under the supervision of a licensed Physical Therapist to implement personalized therapy programs
- Assist patients with prescribed physical therapy exercises and treatments
- Monitor patients' progress and provide feedback to the supervising PT
- Educate patients and caregivers on exercises, techniques, and safety precautions
- Maintain accurate documentation of patient care and progress
- Communicate with the healthcare team to ensure coordinated care
- Ensure proper use and maintenance of equipment and supplies
- Assist with patient evaluations and goal setting as directed by the PT
- Participate in on-call rotation (if required)
Requirements
- Licensed Physical Therapy Assistant (PTA) in [state]
- Minimum of 1 year of PTA experience (home health preferred but not required)
- Strong communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work independently and manage a flexible schedule
- Reliable transportation and valid driver’s license
- Knowledge of Medicare/Medicaid guidelines a plus
- EMR experience preferred
