About the role

  • Network Administrator managing customer projects in network and infrastructure at PLUTEX GmbH in Bremen. Responsible for network planning, configuration, and customer support within a hybrid setup.

Responsibilities

  • Manage customer projects in the area of network and infrastructure
  • Plan, deploy and configure networks according to customer requirements
  • Configure routers and switches (e.g., VLANs, trunks, STP, LACP, port security)
  • Implement and maintain routing concepts – in particular OSPF and BGP
  • Design and operate site interconnections (VPN, MPLS/provider connections – depending on the customer environment)
  • Provide customer support by phone, via ticketing system and on-site at customer locations
  • Systematically isolate and resolve incidents using diagnostic and monitoring tools
  • Advise internal and external users on the selection and use of network components and solutions
  • Analyze and resolve performance and availability issues (latency, packet loss, routing issues)
  • Support the operation and maintenance of our systems and network infrastructures
  • Create system and network documentation (topologies, IP plans, rule sets, change documentation)
  • Conduct training for customers (e.g., basic handling, best practices, operations)
  • Support the support team leadership and, if necessary, take on management responsibilities

Requirements

  • Ideally you have a degree or vocational training in (applied) computer science (specialization: system integration) with several years of professional experience – or you are a career changer with practical knowledge and several years of experience in the IT sector
  • Solid knowledge of network technologies (switching & routing)
  • Practical experience configuring routers and switches
  • Experience with routing protocols, especially OSPF and BGP
  • Understanding of network security (e.g., segmentation, ACLs/firewall basics, best practices)
  • Structured, traceable and self-organized working style
  • High level of commitment
  • Very good teamwork and communication skills
  • Very good German and very good English skills, both written and spoken
  • Quick comprehension and strong willingness to learn
  • You are a team player and ready to work in a dynamic environment
  • You can think analytically and quickly find solutions to problems
