- Platform Engineer III specializing in virtualization & storage for Paychex. Responsible for infrastructure needs, incident resolution, and platform stability in IT systems.
Responsibilities
- subject matter expert in installing, configuring, troubleshooting and maintaining systems
- work within an agile team to provide infrastructure needs
- perform incident resolution, patching, configuration changes, and infrastructure upgrades
- provide technical support during both critical and non-critical business hours
- proactively identify and automate availability and performance failures throughout the environment
- ensure appropriate training is developed and conducted to facilitate the transfer of knowledge
Requirements
- master’s degree or bachelor’s degree in computer science or related field
- 10+ years of relevant experience
- effectively communicate with the team, partners, and leaders including both verbal and written methods
- must have exposure on technologies like Git, Artifactory, ServerSpec, Foreman, Puppet and Ansible
- must have exposure to latest technologies from Cisco, Dell/EMC, Docker, VMware, Red Hat (OpenShift) and Microsoft (Hyper-V)
