About the role
- Platform Engineer managing OpenStack environments for Cloudera. Deploying, troubleshooting, and improving OpenStack systems with Kubernetes integration.
Responsibilities
- Deploy and configure OpenStack environments for development, testing, and production
- Troubleshoot and resolve issues within OpenStack services and infrastructure
- Build and maintain Ansible playbooks and roles for OpenStack automation
- Improve and maintain Helm charts and container images for OpenStack deployment
- Collaborate with the platform team to integrate OpenStack with Kubernetes and Taikun
- Monitor and optimize the performance and stability of OpenStack clusters
- Document deployment procedures, troubleshooting steps, and best practices
- Stay current with OpenStack and cloud-native ecosystem developments
- Work with SDS storage solutions like Ceph
Requirements
- 5+ years of related experience
- Proven experience with OpenStack deployment, configuration, and troubleshooting
- Strong Linux system administration skills
- Proficiency with Ansible for automation and configuration management
- Experience with Kubernetes and containerized environments
- Familiarity with Helm for application packaging and deployment
- Knowledge of container image creation and optimization
- Good collaboration and communication skills
- Extensive knowledge of Ceph
- Bachelor degree or higher (or equivalent) in relevant field is a plus
