About the role
- Full Stack Developer responsible for software platform development at Oxitec. Create efficient solutions for pest control technologies and ensure quality deployment with a creative approach.
Responsibilities
- Taking ownership of the initial version of our software platform.
- Responding to requirements and quickly translating them into implemented software features.
- Setting up good test and build pipelines to ensure robust deployment to production.
- Ensuring good software practices are implemented throughout the build and adhered to by the wider team.
- Creating wireframe mock-ups of new ideas and iterating these into final specifications.
- Ensuring product documentation is kept up to date.
- Act as reviewer for code for other developers.
- Developing new solutions to challenges or roadblocks.
- Bringing creativity and a sense of ownership and accountability to new software solutions.
- Communicating progress of the platform development within the team and highlighting roadblocks at an early stage.
- Strong communication and presentation skills for programme and executive team reporting.
- Evaluate, update and improve the platform consistently to industry standards.
Requirements
- Proven experience with TypeScript/JavaScript and general UX tools (node.js/ vue.js, HTML, CSS).
- Expert with Python.
- Examples of multiple commercial projects completed with effective UX, and performant back-ends deployed in production system.
- Expert in using Git-based version control.
- Well versed with CI/CD pipelines.
- Good at writing unit tests and ensuring software is robust.
- Experience with SQL and NoSQL databases.
- Experience with cloud computing – AWS, Azure, GCP, etc.
- Experience deploying AI models into production code.
- Proven ability to write clear documentation and regularly update task management tickets.
- Excellent communication skills and fully fluent in English.
- Presentation skills in simplifying technical update into business value.
- Good team-working skills.
