About the role
- Senior Platform Engineer responsible for database health and performance in Ovoko's data infrastructure. Building, maintaining, and optimizing systems within a fast-scaling e-commerce environment.
Responsibilities
- Build & Maintain: Own the health and performance of our database clusters and middleware.
- Fix & Optimize: Resolve complex bottlenecks and perform deep-dive troubleshooting.
- Advance the Stack: Improve our infrastructure through automation and modern tooling.
- Monitor: Ensure full visibility into system health and data integrity.
Requirements
- 5+ years in infrastructure, specifically supporting mission-critical data layers.
- Linux Mastery: Deep knowledge of Linux internals. You know how to tune the OS for high-performance database and I/O workloads.
- Database Expert: Hands-on proficiency with MySQL or MariaDB (replication, clustering, and tuning).
- Distributed Systems: Experience running and scaling Kafka, Redis, Elasticsearch.
- Cloud Native: experience with Kubernetes, its ecosystem and related tooling is a major advantage.
- Observability: Practical experience with tools like Prometheus, Grafana, PMM.
- Automation: A "code-first" approach to managing infrastructure (Ansible, Terraform, etc.).
- Fluency in English: Excellent at communicating in spoken and written.
