About the role
- Global Network Platform Engineer focusing on network operations and infrastructure at Knauf, a leading building materials manufacturer. Requires technical expertise in SD-WAN and large-scale networks.
Responsibilities
- Serve as the Tier 3 escalation point, resolving complex incidents from 2nd‑line operations and Service Managers to minimize business impact
- Translate platform architecture and service strategies into robust technical configurations and deployments across global projects
- Build and operate automation and API integrations; use monitoring, AIOps and observability to anticipate and resolve performance issues
- Create and maintain low‑level designs, automation playbooks, SOPs and standardized configuration templates to drive consistency
- Modernize and harden Knauf’s global network estate—covering hardware refresh, configuration management, SD‑WAN rollout, and secure‑by‑design controls including NAC compliance
Requirements
- Degree in computer science/IT or equivalent experience in large-scale enterprise environments
- Proven track record operating campus and enterprise networks at global scale (10,000+ users) across routing, switching, wireless and network security
- Hands-on with SD-WAN, ideally Fortinet (FortiManager/FortiGate), including migrations from legacy WAN to modern SD-WAN
- Cisco CCNP or Fortinet NSE 4+ strongly preferred
- Experienced with centralized network management platforms, identity services and core network services; comfortable with API-driven workflows to improve operational efficiency.
