Process Engineer specializing in biogas projects, leading technical decisions and analyses. Involved from preliminary studies to basic project development in São Paulo, Brasil.
Responsibilities
Will work across the different phases of biometane project development, from preliminary studies through basic engineering, providing technical input to decision-making and project maturation.
🔎 Preliminary Studies
Evaluate new opportunities for energy utilization of biogas.
Collect and analyze process data, exploring technological alternatives applicable to each scenario.
Support industrial layout studies and environmental permitting processes.
Contribute to the preparation of Capex and Opex estimates (class 5).
Support the preparation of technical-economic feasibility studies (EVTE).
🧩 Conceptual Design
Define the most suitable processing technologies for the project.
Interact with suppliers to obtain technical clarification and proposals.
Prepare preliminary technical documentation, such as RFQs, block flow diagrams (BFD) and technical descriptions.
Map technical risks, assumptions and project uncertainties.
🏗 Basic Engineering
Review and approve process technical documentation, including PFDs, P&IDs and process descriptions.
Participate in risk analyses (HAZOP), multidisciplinary reviews and 3D model reviews (30%, 60% and 90%).
Support the pre-operation phase, including activities related to PATEC, ADF and other steps in preparation for commissioning.
Requirements
🎓 Bachelor's degree in Engineering, preferably Chemical Engineering.
🏭 Minimum of 8 years' experience as a Process Engineer in industrial projects and/or operating plants.
Strong experience with gas treatment processes (H₂S removal, CO₂/N₂ separation, dehydration, etc.).
Experience in technical-economic analyses and structuring feasibility studies.
Experience with biogas and/or biomethane is a significant plus.
🛠 Technical leadership and decision-making skills.
Experience working in multidisciplinary environments.
Advanced Excel.
Knowledge of AutoCAD.
Experience with process simulation software (Aspen Plus, HYSYS or equivalents) is desirable.
